I was a patient at the IWK from 1985-1993. I was diagnosed with ALL(Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia). When I came to the hospital we were told I had a 1% chance of making it. At the time an experimental program had started and I was enrolled. I believe it is what saved me. The combination of Cobalt Radation Therapy, Chemotherapy and a large assortment of other meds. After fighting for 8 long years we were finally given the word that I was in remission and now ALL had the 1% chance. Since that time I have moved onto raising my own family now. My fiance and I are so proud of our little boy and we really do owe it all to the IWK. Without you I would not be here.
