Ronda Bamanga

“I want to thank my doctors, nurses and friends at the IWK for helping me feel better.”

Ronda is a young IWK patient. He is seven years old, and lives in Moncton with his family. When he was four months old, he was diagnosed with sickle cell disease and now undergoes monthly blood transfusions and regular IWK visits. Ronda’s family is originally from the Congo in Africa, and they are francophone. When they visit the IWK, a Bilingual Services Coordinator is part of Ronda’s care team.
