“I have the most amazing friends at the IWK – we have lots of fun together. My friends help me to understand the Health Centre and I help them cope with being in hospital by keeping them company and making them smile.”

Buddington the therapeutic clown is an important member of the IWK’s Child Life team. Through play, music and magic, he helps patients and families cope with the health care experience. For some patients, Buddington’s companionship is an essential part of their visit to the IWK and a bright spot during an otherwise stressful time. He is a wonderful, trustworthy, fun friend, completely dedicated to the children and youth who are patients at the Health Centre.
